Why kids can’t get used to us being here.

So I was talking to one of our newbies the other day, and I realized why kids will never stop asking for presents each time they see us, throwing things at us, or saying “nasrani” (which means Christian, but they just generalize to all white people) when we pass by them. For them, it’s kinda like having a clown living in your neighborhood and he’s always in full costume. Perhaps he sometimes tries to put on a suit and tie, but he’s still wearing that damn makeup and red wig. No matter how many times you see him, you’re not gonna say, “There goes Bill.” You’re going to say, “There’s that damn clown with his crazy clown outfit and his crazy white face.” People might eventually call you by name and perhaps even see you as a person, but at the end of the day, they’re still gonna want a balloon animal and they’re still gonna honk your nose.
